Members of AlgaeCenter Denmark recently gathered for an engaging workshop focused on new seaweed species. The event brought together a diverse group of researchers, industry professionals, and enthusiasts to explore species that are not yet widely cultivated or are non-native to Danish waters.
The workshop provided participants with the latest scientific insights, regulatory guidance, and practical experiences from experts in the field. Presenters shared results from recent cultivation trials, including innovative approaches to growing Fucus, Gracilaria, and other promising seaweed species. Discussions highlighted both the challenges and opportunities in introducing new species into Danish aquaculture and emphasized the importance of sustainable and responsible practices.
A key element of the day was interactive dialogue, where participants exchanged ideas, shared experiences, and discussed the commercial and ecological potential of new seaweed species.
Thanks so much to everyone for joining!
