In the SMARTTANG project, supported by GUDP – the Green Development & Demonstration Program, Aarhus University, DTU Aqua, and Blå Biomasse are testing new methods for seaweed cultivation in Limfjorden. The results are impressive, as seen in the video, giving you an underwater look at the experimental nets and the beautiful growth of the seaweed—with adorable shrimp enjoying the leafy tops.
A life cycle analysis is now underway to compare net cultivation with traditional lines, while new harvesting methods are being tested. Seaweed applications are also being explored, including a snack for children developed by Kost Studio and Wavy Wonders, and a feeding trial using seaweed for pig feed, initiated by Fermentationexperts.
